Goddam it, the Arcade Fire's album Funeral is just amazing!

Not like it's been that long since I listened to The Arcade Fire's Funeral, but darvit, that album is amazing. From that opening track "Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)" rising to a pumping crescendo, to the searing "In the Backseat"... it's all good!

And if the snow buries my, my neighboorhood.
And if my parents are crying
Then i'll dig a tunnel from my window to yours,
"Yeah, a tunnel from my window to yours.

You climb out the chimney,
And meet me in the middle, the middle of the town. And since there's no one else around,
We let our hair grow long,
And forget all we used to know.
Then our skin gets thicker from
Living out in the snow."

I don't think lyrics come much better than that!

I always think of the lyrics 'sleeping is giving in, n matter whay the time is' for some reason when I'm thinking about Arcade Fire. You might just see them pop up in my Desert Island Discs....

It was my preferred listening at work on Friday (headphones allowed, boss on holiday etc.) The only problem is that I tend to get into the music, tapping my feet, swivelling my chair, waving my arms etc.

Scares the life out of the nerds in the applied science department.

When I first heard it I thought what is all this hupe about. Then I played it again, and again and again and now I love it to bits and I haven't even got to the lyrics yet.

I'm with Jim. First listen or two were largely followed by "hmmmm"

But now, NOW the second I hear any of the tracks the volume goes up.

In fact, I'm gonna put them on right now!

Just bought it on your recommendation. Awesome.

Why do I recognise "Wake Up"? Has it been used in a film/ad/similar recently? I don't think I'd simply heard it on the radio: my mind is saying "context".

I believe that Channel Five in their desperation to draw me to watching Prison Break have also been using this track alongside Cash's version of The Mercy Seat.

It's a great track but still unconvinced about the programme!
