Oops: misplaced post and football

This should have been a post here at Rullsenbergs rather than as a guest post at Rob's (Doh... Mind, as I said in apology there, it could have been worse: I could have posted it at Blogtionary. Doesn't stop me being a dumb ass).

BTW they arrived safely (we spoke to them late on Saturday night UK time). Must have been feeling okay as Cloud's dad asked how the Wolves got on: a gripping 1-1 draw for those interested.

Got to be better than suffering a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Yeovil.

YEOVIL!!!!!

The shame. I almost have to whisper "Not-in-gum Forest."

I've always liked Notts County myself. I think it's my childhood memories of Jimmy Sirrel's lived in face. If he was alive today, he would be working with Peter Jackson (and no I don't mean the manager of Huddersfield.)

YEOVIL? How humiliating.

(Where the heck is Yeovil? Or what is it?)

Yeovil. The equivalent I guess would be whatever obscure hick town you could identify on the USA map.

Actually, that's probably a bit (lot?) mean on Yeovil, which is a rather attractive market town of around 38,000. But even they wouldn't pitch themselves as high-flying footballing talent. They have mostly been a non-league team for much of their history (that's like local playing rather than national Joe....)

It could be worse... you could have lost to Brighton...

Tom: agreed.

I think.

I mean, I know Brighton have hoverd about the "going out of business" zone for a long while now, but I don't think they qualify as quite so historically desperately grim as Yeovil...

And Brighton do have Attila the Stockbroker as poet in residence...

Ah yes, but when Brighton are also for fairly inexplicable reasons, your bitterest rivals it becomes much, much worse...

Actually, I rallly can't work out why we dislike them so much; after all they're further from us than Millwall, who are objectively speaking much more objectionable... still Eagles vs Seagulls is at least somewhat poetic. And on the upside we knocked the European Champions out of the League Cup last night. 8-)
