Pandagon's "Question of the Day" - which movie can you not resist stopping for?

Come on, we all know there are some films that when you chance on a channel screening them, no matter how far through they are, you just can't resist hanging on to watch them.

It's the subject of Pam Spaulding's "Question of the Day" at Pandagon today.

So what are your 'must watch' catches...?

Vanilla Sky. The majority of the film world seems to hate it, but I love it; it's surreal, it's filled with little clues, it's ambiguous, it has Penelope Cruz, even Tom Cruise is brilliant, and the MUSIC. Oh, the music.

And it always, *always* makes me cry, the ending. Without fail. It doesn't matter what I do; I end up a sobbing wreck.

The Bill and Ted films are on all the time... and I'll watch them all the time.

Yep gals I'm with you on both those and can't imagine how they slipped off my list. Rosby: I really liked vailla Sky and must be one of the few people who has had friends expecting me to prefer the Spanish original but actually MUCH prefers the Cruise/Cruz version. I suspect you aren't laden with that expectation but you're right to like VS.

Anna: ah, Bill and Ted! Both of them just hit the button: "Be excellent to each other, dude".

Some Like It Hot.

Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one). (Never seen that on broadcast, but if one of my kids is watching the video I always end up perching beside them).
