Of famous laughs and wigs and things

Wishing to avoid Private Eye poetry, I will simply remark that Ted Heath is dead and that in the spirit of blogging I shared my favourite Heath remark with the lovely bearded one in the realms of Edinburgh.

I heard the quote on the radio this morning when he was asked whether it was true that when he heard Thatcher had gone he cried 'Rejoice, rejoice!' Heath responded that he believed he had said it three times.

If it doesn't top the one I sent to Rob, it at least equals it.

Glorious. One could almost miss the old curmudgeon.

Note: curmudgeonliness being one of my better qualities this isn't the insult it might initially appear to be...

I would have liked to have heard his response if Thatcher had died first???

I'd like to think that in a Lesley Phillips-ish voice he'd have said "Ding Dong the witch is dead" and then laughed in the typical Heath way...

"Lovely bearded one"? You're too kind.

Consider yourself affectionately hugged.
