I heard the quote on the radio this morning when he was asked whether it was true that when he heard Thatcher had gone he cried 'Rejoice, rejoice!' Heath responded that he believed he had said it three times.
If it doesn't top the one I sent to Rob, it at least equals it.Glorious. One could almost miss the old curmudgeon.Note: curmudgeonliness being one of my better qualities this isn't the insult it might initially appear to be...
I would have liked to have heard his response if Thatcher had died first???
I'd like to think that in a Lesley Phillips-ish voice he'd have said "Ding Dong the witch is dead" and then laughed in the typical Heath way...
