It's disagreement time here Lisa, as I don't really think going to these lengths to scare and frighten people is funny. Pesonally, I would give him a right kicking if he did it to me - if he wasn't bigger than me, of course :-)
Reidski - I agree it isn't 'funny', though frankly I would run a mile from anything that looked like a dalek and not go up and want to prod it. I think what did amuse me was the fact that the guy doing it is only 22 himself, as if somehow students are an alien race compared to him (I'm suspecting that the 'students' are effectively his age group).
I would also hazzard a guess that like The Simpsons 'Comic Book Guy' he probably IS bigger than you...

No pictures of him or his contraption? Maybe he had a cattle prod on the arm - that would work pretty well (and probably get him arrested)
