I'm still not able to fully focus, but following our viewing yesterday of the astonishing Pan's Labyrinth (which I cannot recommend highly enough), I thought I would check out the availability of his first film, the incredible Chronos.
It's not available!
At least not in the UK. The nearest you get is a seller on Amazon selling for £29.99 and saying that's a LOW PRICE!
WHHHAAAATTT?????!!!!!!
In the wake of PL, can someone rectify that?

Is it really as good as Mark Kermode makes out?
"The Citizen Kane of Fantasy"
It is really frustrating that so many good films are unavailable on DVD here. I suppose we can console ourselves with On the Buses boxsets...
I bought Cronos in Fopp a couple of months ago. Cheap, too. If you can't find it drop me an email and I'll go and see if they've got any left.
Stu - not sure I have your email but ta for your comment! I may take a look for it when we're in London at the weekend for the Blog meet but that is reassuring...
tyger - oh boy, Kermode aint wrong. I know he can be an odd bod at times but he's on the money on this one. I will try and do justice with a full but not spoilering review. It was, absolutely, the best film I have seen in a long time.
jams - am hoping Stu-n's advice helps me out to avoid 'On the Buses'...
Lisa,
Cronos is not good. I stayed up late some time during uni to watch it with my Lisa.
It's just very arb.
Pan's Labyrinth however was great. It was slightly different to how I expected it and much much darker.
Sorry Lisa but it didn't work for me.They really should've concentrated on the fantasy element rather than the war story.
And Mark Kermode becomes more and more a parody of himself every time I hear him.He should stay in and watch The Exorcist on a perpetual loop and leave serious films to serious reviewers. The "Citizen Kane " quote is heresy in my books.
