Just had a brilliant time reading this post over at Shakespeare's Sister: "iPod confessions: Your song of shame".
Since I don't have an iPod I'll have to think about this a bit. But you can offer up your thoughts in the meantime. But there are rules to this. It HAS to be a song you love for starters.
I'll think about what mine would be if you tell me yours...?!

Human League 'Together in Electric Dreams'. But I don't think I'm exactly ashamed of it. I put it on compilation CDs for people all the time. Oh, and Boy Meets Girl "Waiting for a Star to Fall'. But ditto. Really, it is quite hard to shame me music wise.
I agree: if we're going with songs that we intentionally like (and have on our iPods, computers, record collections), then yes I'm not ashamed of my taste. okay, so some items might not be foregrounded when certain individuals are around but they're still there for all to see (I got a lot of gip for having a collection of early Oasis singles but for all their faults I still like them).
At the moment my favourite cheesy cheesy song is "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer. Which has nothing to do with this.
I'm not even that embarrassed about having the Menswear album (and both singles of Being Brave)!
Yeah, I don't think I have any songs I'm particularly ashamed of. Just ones that are kind of cheezy and that I giggle over whenever they come up. (All the embarassing stuff is my husband's.)
OH, I wish I still had a Menswear album!
Embarrassing husband material. interesting! Care to out him?! My partner has a penchant for heavy rock dating back to the mid/late 1970s early 1980s... i mean I acn appreciate it now but really, his knowledge of Van Halen, ACDC, Judas Priest and innumerable other far more embarrassing acts never fails to crack me up.
Oh the judgement of an Abba fan...!
