It's the 'So Fucking What' non-news

Student smoked dope. of course, they didn't enjoy it.

Publishers and agents often send out rejection letters suggesting they have read things when really they haven't. And 'failing' to comment on dead-obvious plagiarism in their standard reply letters. Who'da thunk it?

In future I'm considering getting my news from here.

THat Jacqui Smith had a joint when a student is non news. I suppose what would be news is if she went on records say that she smoked pot till it came out of her ears, she still smokes the stuff and is just off to smoke a spliff the size of Broadstairs. Now that might be news

I saw one blog that actually reported an Onion story as real news. As the blog in question was run by someone I particularly loathe I took great delight in pointing out their error... eventually

Not sure I reach the same conclusions as you re publishers / agents not reading books, I suspect it is more likely that everyone gets the same rejection no matter what they sent in. Blogged more about this chez moi xx

I saw a headline on the BBC site along the lines of Home Office reeling over cannabis smoking revelations. Like no one at the BBC ever smiked a joint FFS.

A non story indeed.
