"I'm not against attacking batting"

Says Geoff 'stonewalling' Boycott re England having been "too attacking" in the opening Pakistan Test match...

Yeah, right.

So that old story about the incoming batsman being told "run the f*cker out" for blocking the team winning the match by stonewalling can't be true at all...

Boycott wouldn't know attacking batting if it came up and smashed him in the face.

Unfortunately, he was too wily to be run out easily. Was in fact notorious for getting his partners run out.

But isn't it interesting that an unutterably dull batsman and failed captain makes such a superb commentator? This should surely give great encouragement to people who teach literature and suchlike?
