This is quite hard. A significant part of my favourite novels and thus writers are in translation; Flaubert, Kundera, Kafka, Marquez...So far I've only got Auster, Steinbeck, Twain and Tolkein... Consultation with the bookshelves are needed.
It's actually harder than it seems, isn't it?!
That was EXACTLY my thought! It rather highlighted how privileged we are to access not only writers in English but also the breadth of translation material available to us...
My list is a little obvious, but it does make me smile when I look at it, so I think it's ok :)
