"Students coming out of woodwork".Yes, but there were also students coming out of English Lit classes, Psychology, Philosophy, History, etc, so why do you pick on the woodwork students, eh?????? You're such a snob!!!
"out of THE woodwork..."Sorry, I know, us humanities graduates can be SOOOO stuffy!Actually, the mention of woodwork always brings me to guilty feelings as I once slapped my woodwork/metalwork teacher across the face at school.Trust me when I say I'm not naturally violent, but he had turned off the machines and refused to turn them on for me to finish my piece for the easter vacation. As he had already turned the machines back on a couple of times (for boys I noticed) I was very cross he wouldn't do it for me, especially as there was another 25 mins of class left. So I faced him off and in my anger I slapped him across the face (he was rather short).Immediately, as ever when I lose my temper, I was the one who felt awful and burst into tears of shock and horror. Thankfully he just took a deep breath and said he would ignore it as I was usually such a good pupil... Gulp.Lucky escape there!
I take it all back. You're not a snob, but, in fact, you are an absolute nutter! Slapping your teacher in the face????? And you didn't get kicket out of school?
Yeah, I know terrible ain't it!Really though, I was utterly mortified and it was VERY out of character for me. I seem to recall feeling very sick and faint after it happened. And there was this very deadly hush from the class (bear in mind this was a very rowdy bunch of kids at a fairly grotty and declining school). Their silence also reflected how out of character it was...Mind, I did lash out at bullies a couple of time when pushed too far with thei physical and mental tormenting...Perhaps I am at heart a violent psychopath!? No wonder Cloud loves me!!![Typeface for irony]
