Cloud's been away so I've had the house to myself mostly (with the cat) and regular injections of Scottish boys (that sounded so much better in my head).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to having him back home. I'll also be glad to see the back of this week at work, especially with the disruption created by the snow.
Not as it doesn't look lovely, but the ice that follows isn't great and it is almost inexcusable that the UK is so inept at dealing with relatively small deliveries of snow from the skies....

Tsk, tsk, that sounds rather Daily Mail-ish to me!
If we lived in a country where such conditions were the norm, then I'd worry about the response. As it is, I think things are quite understandable. The alternative is, I suppose, that we have legions of snow ploughs all over the country sitting idle for years waiting for the next freak snow fall. That is, of course, just my humble opinion of things.
I think it's the way everyone just gives up which is annoying. I appreciated the kids couldn't get in Mon/Tues, but WEDNESDAY?? I discovered they had to stay off the extra day because there was no grit as it was all being used for hospitals. Our caretaker couldn't possibly just clear the snow or anything. Heavens above. Someone might fall over. I do realise that sounds very Daily Mailish, but it is bloody annoying!
Reidski I totally agree and would point you to a supplemental post over at Skuds blog which is really rather good on the issue of how to fix school closures (as his example)
PS though I DO object to being likened to the Daily Mail!
Harumph...
;)
yeh, bit below your belt there Lisa! Wasn't it great how parents were outraged at having to spend time with their children??? How mental is that!
