Marie had a bit of a rant yesterday after having drawn in an audience to see Martha Kearney pretending to be Pete Doherty (but presumbly with a passport). Okay, so she took back some of the venom this morning, but damn it is a fine rant.
I caught part of a similarly stupid overview on the earlier news last night. Which classically featured some marketing types musing about baby boomers and what they were like and what they wanted. Of course, they weren't actually TALKING to any baby boomers about what they like or want... marketeers are just intuitive and they know...
Sheesh, it's hard to assess which is worse: blathering boomers or blathering marketeers...

Apparently it was a whole Baby Boomer *day* on the news yesterday so they had a feature on every bulletin. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not that I didn't catch the marketing one, as I might have smashed up my TV (bad) and so missed Newsnight (good). In any case, I wonder how old the person who came up with Baby Boomer day is?
I dread to think...
Almost as funny was all the hoopla as the BBC had both a news story and an excuse to look all knowledgeable about YouTube. Why does it always take the media so long to catch the wave? Do they have to buy a new surfboard and outfit everytime something new comes along?
