Went to Oxford
Went to Lincoln
Bought some books (not very surprising)
Bought two new little dresses (from an independent boutique in Lincoln)
Watched:
Death and the Compass (Alex Cox, Borges, Chris Eccelston, very bonkers in a good way)
Down by Law (Jim Jarmusch, the man who turned CJ into a "six foot wet girl in a Donna Karan dress", Tom Waits and fellow muso John Lurie, also a tad bonkers - not least for the cross-references to things like The Three Stooges!)
The Devil's Backbone (del Toro before Pan's Labyrinth - brilliant and not remotely bonkers)
Read:
Buffy: The Gateway Trilogy [That should be "Gatekeeper" btw]
The Rough Guide to Conspiracy Theories
Found:
a bloody great crack in our bedroom wall
no one returns your calls
no one stocks the great big bags of plain chocolate choc chips (as in our lovely Ginger & Choc Chip cookies)
Harumph....

I contemplated whether I should tell you about my week but I decided to be cruel and fess up: I worked too hard, had the Friday off, went to a Radio 4 recording on Monday where Catherine Tate interviewed David Tennant on stage (such a hoot) and saw The Caretaker at the Tricycle theatre on Thursday and Douglas Hensall was in the audience. But new Doctor Who is half an hour away, so let's rejoice in that.
Oh Poly... you know how to make a girl weep with envy!
I know. But it was too big a thing to keep it to myself. On the plus side, there is a gem of a Radio 4 programme to look forward to in six months time. Actually two, since the recording was for Chain Reaction, so David Tennant will have to interview someone himself in a separate recording.
And Douglas Hensall looked very handsome. Does this lift your spirits? Didn't think so.
New Doctor Who in 15 minutes. I bet that does the job. Frankly, it's the only thing I can think right now.
Hey Lisa, so what did you think of Down By Law? We all scream for ice cream!
"We all scream for ice cream!"
Yep, that was the Three Stooges moment, and very fine it was too!
Grand film: mucho thanks for its addition to the R&R collection. And somehow I forgot to add we watched "The Proposition" as well. Neil was mucho impressed.
PS Poly: I didn't need to be told Dougie is handsome - I sooo know that! ;)
But glad he was looking good. Sigh. And yes I will look forward to Chain Reaction as I often listen to that.
More sigh.
All redeemed by my Primeval DVD and the return of Who.
Extra sigh.
Is this a hint for me to post more chips?
Jarmusch/Waits on a weekday. Great. Play that tarantella.
