I can do little better than direct you to the Dreamwatch recommended page on the project. But suffice to say that lovely Dougie Henshall is the lead in it so I will be watching regardless...
Thought I'd say that this show is FAR from a 'walking with'. It's firstly a plot driven drama, with action, romance, mystery and sci-fi mixed up with full-on monster hunting. I can't wait!
I think that Primeval may suffer from as well as benefit from associations with the "Walking With..." allusions, particularly as the last project on dinosaurs for ITV (Prehistoric Park) did less than set the world alight.
Personally, of course, as George suggests, I'm into for the plot ...

Seriously though I think and hope it will be all the things that 'anonymous' says. And the preview screening poster looked really exciting (I would do a strike-through 'hot' but blogger comment tag limitations don't let me!!)
